LMMons is a project that we have been eager to release since we thought up the idea! Following on from previous challenges that some of the LMM Team have been part of (namely the Scrappage Rally’s by good friend JayEmm on Cars), we thought we could do one ourselves.
LMMons, a contraction of LMM and Lemons (inspired by the American Lemons Rally) is a challenge wherein the pariticpants must purchase a cheap vehicle and then partake in an assortment of simple challenges. All in we are trying to simply give some appreciation to the often under appreciated “bangers” that exist on the used car marketplace and showing just how far your money could go!
For the first LMMons Challenge we set about purchasing a sub-£500 vehicle and driving from our base in East Anglia to the beautiful Wales coast, down through Wales and then back home – all in a week!
We are also supporting the Special Effect charity, our fundraising page can be found here. Special Effect are a charity which produce unique peripherals that allow individuals with physical disabilities to enjoy the world of video games, a worthy cause indeed!
This video reveals the participants cars and mild banter, all good stuff really!
For those unsure, the vehicles are:
- Peugeot 106 Quicksilver with a Citreon Saxo VTS engine swap
- Renault Megane Expression Cabriolet (face-lift)
- Toyota Celica 7th Generation T-Sport, previously featured in the cheap drag car challenge
- Nissan 100NX Pacifica
- Ford Transit Connect
